My 10 yr old is taking Concerta and it is the worst thing that i have every seen happen to a child. i am looking into ways to get him off the medication. it is horrible. he is fine during the day but in the evening he is a totally different person. Annoyed and irritated all the time, sad, angry, aggressive, mildly violent. he has melt downs every night and lately they have been lasting for 4 hours. no one is getting sleep and it is very stressful for the family. this drug should be banned....

my 12yr old son has been on concerta for 4 years. He is now on the 54mg dose. He has never shown any of the side effect you are mentioning but he has started lying alot and is being very sneaky. his grades at school have dropped in th elast year and is constantly in trouble for his behavior here at home. my husband and I are at a loss as to what we should do....we dont know if its 12 year old behavior or if he is in need of a medicine change. The struggle has come close to breaking our marriage up....we need help!

my 9 yr old son is on 54mg of concerta, and to me it has been a blessing,he is doing better in school and at home,we have tried everything as far as medication goes and concerta is the only thing that works for him.i just dont like the fact he doesnt have an appetite at all till the medication wears off. but other than that i have nothing bad to say about the medication.
