I've had this thing (mirena) in me for almost 5 weeks now, and have yet to stop bleeding. I too, am always tired, moody, and hungry. I thought I was crazy when I thought I could feel it in there. Now that I know others have experienced all this I feel a little better. Sad thing is, I no longer have insurance. I'm stuck with it unless I wanna pay way too much to get it out. Anyone else bled this long? I bled in the beginning, Spotted for 3.5 weeks, and now it's a full blown period again. Does it ever stop?

I've had Mirena since May 2007. I had spotting almost every day for nearly the first year. It did get lighter and lighter, then nothing for about 2 months, then an 8- day period followed by more spotting! It's just been very irregular.
I made an appointment to get mine out in 2 weeks. I too am so glad to have found this site. I've had symptoms over the past year that I never would have attributed to Mirena until reading on here that others have had similar problems. Thank you everyone for posting! I'll post an update after I have mine out.

I would recommend that you ask your physician's office what the removal cost is and see if you can save up or if they will accept payments. It cannot be that much. Just a suggestion. I am afraid you may be suffering needlessly.

Just an idea for you if you don't have any complications, i.e. missing strings or perforation...some women on other sites have reported that they've removed their Mirena themselves, and apparently it's a breeze. It simply slides out.
