Reason 1151 to run away fast from IUD's. I had surgery yesterday to have a Mirena removed. I thought it would be an easy procedure and was already annoyed that I had to go that far. I am waking out of anesthesia and the OB tells me that the IUD had migrated to my abdomen so they removed it with a laproscope. Apparently it perforated my uterus. But, How strange I am ALREADY feeling better. Here's what is gone: Muscle aches around my hips Extreme tiredness I will keep you updated - and thanks for your support. wow i can not believe it i thought it was only me. I had mine put in 8 months ago. after 5 i went back to the ob and told him i was having headaches, pain, etc. He made it sound like it was me and would not take it out. After several phone calls to my hmo i finally got an appointment with another ob but when she went to take it out she could not find it. needless to say after a 2 hour ultra sound they located it. I have an appointment sept 2nd with another md to see if they can try to get it out without surgery. I doubt it, if the one ob couldn't reach it i don't see anything changing in a few weeks. So i will more than likely have to have surgery to have it removed. Words alone can not express how angry i am. I had no idea that this could have happened. Anyway I would sure appreciate any info you can give me about the surgical process, like what to expect, any bad pain. I am sure that the short term pain to have it removed is well worth it. But the more information i have prior to seeing my ob the better off i think i will be. i appreciate anything anyone can tell me. This product is the worse
