I, too took Lipitor and had some of the side effects you describe. I couldn't stand it anymore and stopped this poison. After 6 months, I still have side effects, but it is getting better by taking several products. There are natural things to take to control your cholesterol without being miserable.
I almost died from a statin overdose of 80mg/day. The E-Newsletters at medicationsense.com listed below are a must read for anyone, who has had an adverse reaction to statins:

"In 2004, a study published in the American Journal of Cardiology showed that diastolic dysfunction (heart muscle weakness) occurred in 70% of previously normal patients treated with 20 mg a day of Lipitor® for six months. This heart muscle dysfunction was reversible with supplemental CoQ10.7 Heart failure that develops after years of statin drug therapy can be termed statin cardiomyopathy and may well be playing a role in the epidemic of congestive heart failure in the United States."

I would be happy to enclose their webb-sites but as they have previously been replaced by ***** I suggest that you search on the writer´s names and you will find them.
Then there is:
Lipitor - thief of memory (Duane Graveline). He also has a webb-site and you can order his free newsletter.
Another suggestion is:
Google for "Stopped our statins".
An informative site.
Under print articles you will find an interesting article from The Weston Price Foundation.
All statins have similar side effects so if you want to find more information you can also seach for Zocor and Simvastatin (the active ingridient in Zocor) etc. .
It`s amazing how many different names one and the same medication can have.
The reason why I have read these books, and a lot more, is because I saw people close to me suffer from overmedication.

Your case sounds like a classic case of statin poisoning.
I had stents two weeks ago and one of the medications I have been given to take is Lipitor.
I felt pretty good after the operation and at the end of the first week things were going well.
Then the side effects from the Lipitor hit.
I ache, I am hot then cold, my urine is very dark, I feel sick and have not eaten in days.
There is the most horrible taste in my mouth and all I can drink is iced water.
I have never had high chloesterol and my Doctor put my blocked artery down to smoking which I have now stopped.
After spending hours on the Internet, tyring to find out what was wrong with me and knowin that there was no way I could keep going like this I am so happy to realise I am not going mad.
The Lipitor is in the bin and I am NEVER taking it again
