Was on Vytorin for 2 years & experienced no noticeable side effec...

I would strongly urge you to take CoQ10 to restore CoQ10 levels as the statin in Vytorin depletes this vital nutrient from muscles. You may get some improvement, but taking it is not a cure all. While some people get better in a week after discontinuing statins, others may take a year of more to heal. We are all different.

I AM ALSO ON VYTORIN FOR ABOUT 2 YRS NOW & JUST LIKE YOU MY HANDS, HIPS,FEET, HEELS & TOES ARE HURTING , I WAS ALSO WONDERING ABOUT THE MEDICINE CAUSING IT , WHEN I GO BACK TO FLA I WILL ASK MY DR TO TAKE ME OFF IT & PUT ME ON ANOTHER MEDICINE & WOULD NOT CAUSE THE PAIN I HAVE IN MY BONES . Good luck to your I to had a hysterectomy (complete) in Dec. 2007. I startd Vytorin in Jan 2008, by June 2008 I was having pain so bad in my legs and hips, it started in my calves, I saw many doctors,rhumetolgis ( sorry spelling) and Nuro doctors. This problem has gotten progressivley worse I have now been going to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fl, I have had a muscle biopsy and many nuro tests, I now have no reflexs in my left leg.
I have muscle damage, strands in my mucsles, not normal and I have had nuro problems also. I blame all of this on Vytorin I urge all of you to report our problems with this medication with the FDA. Their are very responsive and if you don't report it this medicaton is going to take away the quality of life of many people as it has me.

I took vytorin for 3 months early 2007. I started getting fatigued and my body ached all over as if I were getting a bad case of flu. Doctor took me off vytorin and the symptoms calmed down although I was diagnosed with fybromyalgia. After about 4 months of being off Vytorin I felt pretty good and thought it was over. Now I am having this body ache all over, fatigue, fingers weak, feet pain. My cholesterol is 345 and my new doctor has told me I have to get back on the cholesterol meds if I want to live. I have tried them all before the vytorin. Vytorin was the one I took the longest before side effects hit. I just dont know what to do. I cant live through the pain I am already having pain all over. How can I start a medication that will make it 3 times worse. I feel the vytorin caused my fybromyalga because I stayed on it too long. Some serious side effects (muscle pain and weakness) your suppose to stop the medication but it does not say why. Does anyone know why? What will it do to you if you just take it and it is causing you so much pain. Honestly I feel I would rather die than live like that. I am just goint to pray that the medication will not effect me like that again. I have 2 boys 10 and 14. A long way to go I need to be here for them. I swear when I was on the Vytorin and started getting the muscle aches and weakness I was totally useless. If anyone has any advice I would love to hear it. Thanks
