I'm a 40 year old mother of three. I have had my Mirena for 5 years come September. I must say that I have found it as a very convenient form of contraception. Hardly had any periods (and the associated cramps and mood swings) for the past 5 yrs. My husband is considering a vasectomy now so I will be having it out soon (when 5 yrs are up). To be quite honest part of me is relishing being hormone free, the other part is scared of having to go through again the usual monthly cylces - Uggh!!
