I've taken Ultracet for about 4 years almost every day, morning and night time and sometimes in the afternoon depending how severe my pain is. I take 2 pills each time. It does help take the edge off my pain. My doctor said my Fibromyalgia is as bad as it can get, plus I have severe arthritis through my whole body. I can hardly stand up straight and trouble walking. Ultracet seems to help better then Ultram for me. I'm concerned about how long I've taken Ultracet and damaging my liver or other organs. Does anyone know how long you can continue using Ultracet before it does damage. I'm very concerned about that issue because it does somewhat help with pain. I haven't noticed any side effects using Ultracet. If anyone knows how long you can stay on Ultracet without any harm, please post your knowledge or experience. Should I also have my blood monitored periodically?

your extended use of the product will not be good for your liver. at six pills your just under the recomended theruputic dose of acetametaphine daily which is a limit of 2000 mg. your at 1950 a day with six pills. not healthy for you liver for 4 years. you should consider alternativie treatment for you symptoms. an attempt daily to stretch will over time help cure alot of your ailments as you begin to stretch further and further you will notice waking up less and less sore. people with non physical jobs and lack of healthy diet/excersice need to do this at minumum daily to keep your body functioning to release the toxins metabolised by everything put in out body's and the toxic air we breath. water is also vital for detoxification of your liver and blood. important to remember this when using prescriptions containing nsaid like acetametaphine ascytilic acid or ibuprofen cause you dont want to overdose on those. they will cause liver disease.

Well, I have been taking ultracets for aprox. 3 to four years. I wasnt even perscribed them but I got them form my mother because I guess the doctors thought I was to young too have bad enough pain to be on meds. I was born with a club foot and my hips are an inch and a half off so my pain is severe . I am 24 and trying not to take them anymore but after two or three days of not taking any I have severe withdrawls. I get a burning sensation through my whole body then right after a chill up and down my bones, I cant sleep or even get out of bed half the time. So I continue to take them because the withdrawls are so severe. Unlike you I cant go to the doctor for help because they wernt perscribed for me and I'll be sent to rehab in which they make you stop cold turkey and no help for your wothdrawls you just deal with it. So if I were you I would talk to your doctor and tell him to keep setting you up with lower doses to wein you off ultracets because being on them for four years you will definetly be a canidate for severe withdrawls after all this medication is only suposed to be used short term anyway... Best of luck to you I hope I come up with something myself before this medication kills me.
