Yes, I had the paragard for 10 years before I had it removed (just because it was time) and replaced with the Mirena. I did have pretty heavy periods with it but I was regular and the periods were 6-7 days long with 2 days of heavy bleeding. This is why I opted for the Mirena. I had it for 3 months and had many of the same side effects you experienced as well as significant hair loss (which is ongoing and I hope once my hormones settle down it will subside). I had it removed and replaced with another paragard. I would rather have heavier periods than to have to worry about synthetic hormones wrecking havoc on my body. I should mention that my periods were heavy and irregular before the first paragard anyways. It did make them even heavier though. So far I have not had a period since I've had the new paragard inserted. Which is odd since it's been over 7 weeks since my last period. I'm sure it has to do with the hormone imbalance my body is going through as my period never stopped while on the mirena for the short time (just was lighter).
I had paragard for 2 years between my first and second child. I had my periods like clock work every month. I definetely did not feel the effects I did when I had for Mirena. But after Mirena, I dread to put anyhting into me. but thats me... Give it a shot could work for you. but again be aware. Nothing is foolproof. You are more important and your life is more important . Dont let anything take over you.
You must be a God send, I have been having every symptom that you described, and I kept thinking maybe I'm just getting older and I need to diet and loose weight. No I need to have this Mirena taken out . I am making my appointment on Friday, by next week I will be mirena free
Thank You
