I do remember the mention of potassium increasing and to not take Advil, Aleve and other medications that could make your potassium even higher. Even though it was not mentioned to not eat foods high in potassium, I have not. However, I had severe calf cramping just a couple weeks ago and I thought it was due to me not drinking enough water and becoming dehydrated but I think my potassium level was extremely high since I was getting cramping in my fingers and toes as well. I have had a couple issues in the past few days with slow speech and forgetting mid sentence what I am saying. I have even caught myself talking to myself! What the heck is that all about?

The same thing happened to me. Its VERY scary. But instead, it wasnt a blood clot. I know what you mean about taking the birth control, i feel too scared. My vision is always blurry and off and its so scary it comes and goes and no one understands.

Yes, I have had the same problem, WHILE I WAS DRIVING.. My hands and face went numb, and I couldn't even tell the paramedic where I was... It was like I was having a horrible panic attack, and after the episode was over, I too had a horrible headache... This was all on yaz as well.

My doctor did order a thrombophilia test. It is a very expensive, and extensive, blood work up. It did turn out that I have MTHFR, basically a deficiency in Folate. I have a "clotting disorder". My blood clots too easily. And something like Birth Control pills could kill or seriously harm someone with this disorder. It is simply controlled through taking Folic Acid and baby aspirin. But NO birth control pills!!!
I am still shocked at the fact that a doctor hands out birth control pills like they are candy and completely safe, when the person in front of them could have a horrible reaction to it, and wind up as a statistic. My doctor, the first day she EVER saw me, gave me a 5 month supply of Yaz!! Any drug should be better regulated!
