Hi! I JUST had the Mirena put in Yesterday...Tues. And within one hour I started to feel foggy, light headed and crazy! I started getting a pressure headache. Being the last patient of the day, I knew the office was closed. So I looked online and found you all. I am horrified at this point! I couldn't sleep last night at all! I was so nauseous and had the poops. (sorry, tmi) Today I feel full of anxiety and my heart is racing. I feel like I'm on drugs or drunk! My head is still pounding. I kept calling my OBGYN and didn't talk to him until about 2 hrs ago. He said none of these symptoms are from the Mirena. So I hear that is most of the Docs words around here! He suggested I give it more time and call him in a few days and if I want it out, he will take it out. Well the thing is, I am ready to pull it out myself! I feel like I'm crazy! Seriously! I don't know what to do! I called my PCP and they refuse to take it out b/c they didn't put it in. They suggested going to the ER. Well my insurance for sure won't cover that!! So what do I do? I feel like I'm going crazy and no one will listen! We are moving to Italy in a month nd I need this resolved AWAY before then! Any advice will help! I just know when I call my doc, he will try to make me keep it in! What do I do?? HELP! Thanks for being here! Wish I had found you before. I am really good about researching things and I didn't with this. I trusted my doc! The other thing is I hear a ton of you have gained weight!!! I JUST had a full tummy tuck June 5th and I freaking better not gain weight!! LOL I want this out!! Calling my doc tomorrow and demanding he take it out. Has anyone had a doc refuse taking it out and if so, what is our recourse? It's our body right?? Thanks again for listening to me gripe!!! ;) God Bless!! Danielle

Hi Danielle! If you have insurance to have it put in, it will also cover removing. You should go back to the same doctor who had inserted for you.I had mine removed a week and half ago, and I feel so much better.I have already lost 3 lbs of water weight. The foggy feeling in my head is gone, and my acne is getting better. It will make you gain weight, so becareful since you have invested in an expensive tummy tuck. Most of us get these symptoms after a month or two. You are experiencing it so soon, so definitely your body is not happy with it. Listen to your body! I am also thinking of doing a tummy tuck. How do you feel after the surgery? Is the scar visible?I am done deal with having kids, I want my 26 inch waist back! good luck! :)

Hi!! TY for your advise!! I called my insurance and they do cover the Mirena and they cover the removal! YAY! So I am calling first thing in the morn to get it out!!! TY so much! As far as the tummy tuck..I can't lie! It hurt baaaad! Be very prepared for it!! I am so glad I was prepared or I would have been in big trouble! I am only 2.5 months out and my scar is healing nicely! I had 3 sections and the scar turned white to the point where you couldn't really see it...doc said that this scar will peob do the same. There is areas of the scar that you can't see anymore! So I am happy! But the pain after surgery is horrible! Make sure if you get it done you spend the night in the hospital!! Don't do it in a clinic and go home! I also had inner, outer thigh lipo and flank lipo. Lipo is a world of hurt! To say it feels like you got hit by a mack truck is being kind! I'd love to chat more about it with you if you'd like! Feel free to send me a private email so I don't tie up this wonderful board.;)
Thanks again for the advice...I tell my 6 yr old all the time to listen to what her body tells her, and I am going to do the same! Thanks again!
Danielle

Danielle,
I had the Mirena put in after my first baby, about 7 months ago. I have since then been getting sicker and sicker! I have developed hypothroidism, gained 15 pounds, I feel crazy too, my brain doesn't work, I'm moody, fatigued, have constant joint and muscle pain. I'm so depressed! My husband found this website today actually and I was shocked. I am a nurse and I just removed it myself. I found the strings, pinched it with my index finger and thumb and gently pulled. I felt comfortable doing that, but there can be complications, so I'm not condoning it, but I feel better already just knowing it's out! I would make my doctor take it out if i was you! Good Luck!

Hi!! OMG! I'm sorry you had to go through it that long! I would have died for sure or ripped the thing out! lol But I did go back today and he removed it!! YAY! He didn't argue at all. He just said "maybe you are really sensitive to the homone". So it helped that he didn't say I was coo coo! LOL I went in with a HORRIBLE heaache..and within 10 min of it being out, the headache was totally gone!!! And it wasn't your normal headache...it was weird. I can't explain the pain, but it was like I was about to have a stroke!! So anyway, I am better and we are going to wait til y next cycle to discuss my other options. He was really great about that. He wanted to let me body "rest". So thanks for your support!! I am glad you got yours out safely!! I am spreading the word about this body altering machine!! LOL God Bless!
