The TRUE measure of your thyroid function is the FREE T3 and FREE T4, not the TSH or the reverse T3, although the RT3 is a good to have once you are diagnosed, but you do NOT need it every time. The FREEs measure the amount of hormone that is actually in your bloodstream. Hence the *free* name, for free floating hormone. The RT3 measures another set of values. I have been dealing with this for over 19 years and have found that the best Docs are either internists or GP's, the endodos are best left to themselves.
