I have had Mirena for about nine months now and I absolutely hate...

I've had Mirena since 10/23/07. the 2nd month after getting it i had my period and bled for a month. after that i spotted daily for about 3 months. i have absolutely no sex drive. for the 1st couple months i had tenderness in my breast,a discharge & some cramping. i told myself i would give it a year because my sister has had hers for 6 years and she loves it. however she has had some weight gain that only she seems to not notice. Beside the sex lack of sex drive The only side effect that has not subsided is acne. i've never had acne and now i'm having a terrible time with my complexion and being the person that i am i would rather have cramps than a pimple. i would hate to get this far and remove it especially since i was told i'd bleed for a long time afterwards. damned if i do ...u know the rest

I've had mine in for a year or two now and I love it. I do remember my doctor telling me to breath when she was putting it in and whatever I do make sure I do not get up really fast or right away after it was put in otherwise she said I would feel nausiated, light headed and may even get sick. It may have been that you got up too quickly, who knows it's so different for everyone. I have had no negative side effects, it's actually decreased my periods from 7-10 days to 1-2 days and even then they are so light. I can't imagine not having it, the pill never did this for me. The one thing I am questioning is whether or not it can cause weight gain. I work out a lot and run and am very active and still can't seem to lose any weight. I was hoping i could blame it the mirena and not my diet. I don't eat horrible but it's not always healthy cause I love pasta.

hi im suppose to get the mirena in a couple days the pamplet doesn't really say that you gain wieght or have really have bad mood swings. but maybe everyboody is different. But now i am having second thoughts about haing it done. Do you have to be on your period for them to do it.
