I have been taking Lisinopril for a couple of months and have gained 5 inches around my waste! I have never weight more than 106 (I am 43 years old) and I am shocked with this weight gain. I aslo have cough. I take the medications at night becuase it makes my pass out but I still get dizzy spells in the morning.. I already have very low blood pressure; Lisinopril is prescribed to protect my kidenys from some of the others medications I take which have caused some kidney damage. My husband has been taking Lisinopril for over 1 year. The systoms he experienced is Memory Loss, difficulty concentrating. This gradually became noticable within months of him taking this drug. He was listless and tired along with the Memory Loss and difficulty concentrating. This then led to depression. His memory loss is becoming more severe so we have elected to go off the Lisinopril because all these issues began after he stated taking this drug. When discussed with our Dr...he pooh poohed the idea of the Memory Loss and difficulty concentrating. Has anyone else experienced these types of systems? I know 3 people all taking Linsinopril all experiencing Memory issues.

I have taken the hyzaar 50/12.5 for 11yrs and loved it my blood pressure has been perfect the whole time. I now have a new insurance company and their insisting that I try a less expensive blood pressure med, my Dr just prescribed lisinopril 40mg and hydrochlorothiaz 12.5 I'm like you I don't like taken new meds and I'm really concerned about taken these 2 new ones.
