Has anyone experienced difficulty swallowing solid foods? My son has been on it for 2-3 years and this issue has just developed. Not sure if it has to do with the Singulair or not. He's had an Upper GI and no physical problems show up. He is 11 years old and the allergist says the mood swings are due to his age, not the medicine. He has been really down and cries at the strangest things.

I would HIGLY reccommend you find an alternative to Singulair. See my other posts under matthewct1. Mood swings are a sure sign of Singulair side effects. 11 year old should not cry at the strangest things. Use your instincts. If you allergist isn't aware of these side effects you should find a new one.

i have read posts of a feeling of a big mucos ball in the throat,at first my son had an adversion to food, then it went to over eating never feeling full,as far as the crazy moods....it is the singulair not his age...you know him best...your doctor struggles to even know his name...if it is not normal behavior for your child then it just may be the singulair...it only takes a day or two to figure out...you see a sweet sweet twinkle in there eyes that you didnt even realize was missing...but when you see it you recognise it right away...good good luck keep us updated we care
