usually patients exp. aches and pains for the first few weeks after starting statins. there are a few simple blood test that can show if this is a serious side effect commonly known as "rhabdo." this is very rare but does happen, i would have the blood test taken if the pain continues or is extreme. if the tests are neg. then the benifit of statins far out way the nagging sore muscles.

Extremely serious, memory loss is reported all the time along with muscle and joint pain. Go to lipitor side effects. deal to this seriously and quickly b4 it gets worse. The least time you take the med usually the faster the recovery. Next after memory loss for me was blackouts, do you drive? Best to you.
