I'm so sorry this happened to you. I also am a victim of a fluoroquinolone drug. The one that hurt me was Levaquin. This is why I am writing to you. You should never take any drug in this family including Levaquin, Avelox, Factive, Tequin, or any others. They also say that Flagyl gives you similar side effects. May God bless you and heal you. I'll keep you in my prayers. For more info, go to www.favc.info, www.fluoroquinolones.org, www.fqresearch.org
I too have suffered the wraith of being poisoned by Cipro. Please see my site www.toxinfloxin.com
I've given progress reports on my entire ordeal. I'm now seeing daylight, but not in waiting for someone to answer my call. Prayer may help the soul, but only you can help your body. There is hope, there is a remedy, the body can heal itself given the proper tools. I've told everything in my weekly progress reports, what works, what doesn't. Read it all, do your research and make your own decisions. You don't have to live in pain for the rest of your life.
Hey just wanted to let you know your are to avoid dairy and antacids for 2 hours before and after taking a pill of Cipro.
You mentioned it "Helped" you but perhaps it was causing you the side effects in actuallity?
I've taken Cipro for many years and I know it can be a wicked drug , but for me its the price I have to pay to stay alive. I get Pneomonia(sp) very quickily where most ppl get a cold.
I just wanted to share my knowledge about the dairy and antacids with you
I took the medication as prescribed without having the dairy products at the times the paper told me not, two hours before and two hours after eating, with no antacids at all. I still experienced the side effects that way. I noticed later that when I ate dairy it seemed to hinder the effects of the drug, as I believe it is stated on the paper. That's why you're not supposed to have dairy, because it causes the medication not to be absorbed as well, which was what I wanted to happen since I was so ill. It's not that I would tell people not to take this at all, but it should not be a first resort drug for most people as is being done and should include more warning. If you are in a life or death situation that is a different matter. I was not in that kind of predicament and wish that I had not taken this medication because I am currently having memory and thinking impairment as well as other setbacks to my health. Some people didn't get off as easy. Some have suffered serious, lifelong problems even after only taking one pill for things like a routine procedure . I personally would never take this medication again and feel it necessary to warn others about the potential risks. If they are in a life or death situation it seems that it's better to take the risk though. Hope this cleared things up. I'm really glad to hear that you've found something that helps. A few years back it looked like I was going to die and I took levaquin, a drug in the same family as cipro, intravenously for pneumonia and infection. I had side effects, but I wanted to live as it seems that's where you're at too.
