Lipitor is a dangerous drug and can cause MANY side effects. I suggest that you stop taking it as I did.
Yeah M8 this is embarrsing and bad bad bad. I'm married with my dear wife for over 30 yrs, I starting loosing all interest, in the end I became withdrawn and hugged the outside of the bed, then my billy bags went total dry, then I stopped taking Lipex (New Zealand) and then for the next 2 - 3 months my doodles started squirting on its own. As I say embarrassing but bloody sickening as well, when we stay at friends place I sneak my sleeping bag in in case i have an "accident" during the night. Seems to have settled back to dry bags again at my stage in life I can live with out "activity" but I'm now shit scared of cancer somewhere. "Preventitive medicine" I hate these bloody poohpas for 4 years my cramps and loss of muscle power was me not the medicine in the end a fisherman M8 told me I had statin poisoning not my doctor who was my mate and I mean was. that's my bitch for the night. I have been reading statins for 9 months now and i am totally convinced that given a large enough group of people there is probably no part of the human's wonderful body that this poisonus puss does not interfere with. Be kind to yourself, body soul and gentle exercise and it should come right for you. kindest to you and yours from a poisoned and embarresed kiwi. (who need's spellcheck !)
Impotence is a well known side effect for all statins.
I know it because I have read quite a few books/articles on the subject.
I have nothing to do with the health care or pharmaceutical industry.
Just an ordinary lady in her sixties who saw a lot of side effects in relatives.
There is plenty of information on the Internet and in books.
I suggest that you google for "Stopped our statins". A very informative site.
Under print articles to the left you will find an article from the Weston Price Foundation about side effects etc.
Also look for Duane Gravelines site.
He calls himself spacedoc.
Evidently I am not allowed to write it out - it will be eraced.
But I am sure you will find it.
I am of the opinion that cholesterol is nothing to worry about.
Why should the body produce cholesterol if we did not need it ?
What`s the point suffering from terrible side effects?
Here are some enlightening books on the cholesterol issue and health care in general:
The Great Cholesterol Con (Anthony Colpo)
The Cholesterol Myths (Uffe Ravnskov)
Malignant Medical Myths (Joel F. Kauffman)
Overdosed America (John Abramson)
The Truth About The Drug Companies (Marcia Angell)
Google for the names of the writers and the book titles and you will probably find more information.
Good luck!
Yes. Statins can have sexual side effects. Testosterone is made from Cholesterol. Inhibit cholesterol and you can inhibit testosterone. All the steroid hormones are manufactured from Cholesterol.

I forgot 3 other fellows I've spoken to all got limpy doodles so probably the accurate answer is "does definately effect" not "can" effect. I know this gets personel and embarassing but I s'pose it helps each other. Another common side effect in "that" department is that No 1s and 2s become badly effected far less power and quantity, terrible smells and far more frequencey. Seems like everyone on this site has either totally recovered or are on their way to a better life we got to keep seeing the glass as half full not half empty. CYa
