fatandsassy -
I love your post. How about the fact when I was first diagnosed in Jan 07, I was 118. I have been 118 since I was in highschool. I know this body of mine pretty darn well. Now, 18 months later, I am 140 and absolutely pissed off about it. I am a runner and let me tell you this drug has nothing to do with accumulating fat. It is a very scary drug. I AM SURE IT has helped many people, but it's not for me. I told her this was nuts and I have never been a pound over 120. Her response....."well, at least you're not obese". I replied, "well, it sure seems like I may be on that road". I have stopped as of yesterday. I sought out homeopathic assistance, I am going back to my former weight and I'm gonna kick this diseases butt, without synthroid. I am determined.
I figured out why I was gaining weight on Synthroid. It doesn't work!!! It's only a storage hormone, T4, which is meant to convert to the active hormone T3. But we are not meant to live on T4 without direct T3. When I switched to Armour, which gives you T4, T3, T2 T1 and calcitonin, I STOPPED gaining weight. I feel wonderful and it's the Stop the Thyroid Madness site that changed my life. It taught me about desiccated thyroid and NOT to dose by that lousy TSH test, which has a terrible "normal" range. Google Stop the Thyroid Madness!! Read it! I also got the book a month ago and it's even better.
