I am currently taking levaquin for a sinus and double inner ear infection, i have also taken this antibiotic before,i am 35 years old. I think this drug works wonderfully and tell the doctor this drug works the best for me.i have noticed a harder time falling asleep if i take it too late in the evening and some mild stomach cramping if i do not eat at least 2 hours prior to taking it.i also take it with a full glass of water.some of the side affects listed in this blog that people are describing are normal if you read your insert that comes with the medication. And if you follow the directions and eat and drink with a full glass of water the side effects are not as severe.Unless you are allergic to the drug,i do not find it bothersome knowing i will not be taking it forever and it is just temporary that i will be having a hard time falling asleep.i do eventually fall asleep. My suggestion while taking this medication if you are in reasonably good health,is to read the directions about eating and drinking plenty of water and don't panic, that just makes things worse.

this poison accumulates in your body. one of these times you will experience some effects that don't go away. you are taking a chance taking this drug and you shouold ask for something safer.

Here we go....good for you! I am glad this drug has worked for you, and that all you have suffered is mild sleeplessness and stomach cramps. However, to post on this forum and suggest that some of the "side effects that people are describing are normal" is both belittling and borderline insensitive. Yes, it worked for you and "so far" you have not had any adverse effects, but for those of us whose lives have been altered, this is a nightmare from which we cannot awake. We get to get through each and every day in pain. Not knowing if it will ever get better. Live our lives keeping our spirits up at great effort. I hobble around in pain all day long. I have tendonitis EVERYWHERE! I was in great health. I was athletic, kick boxing, hiking, playing softball. Now I struggle to exercise mildly and pay a huge price for the slightest exertion. I don't mean to ramble, but postings like yours make me angry that you seem to take so lighly and flippantly the fact that this drug that works so wonderfully exacts a HUGE price. Panic? No one panics here, we are simply trying to prevent others from going through what we have. Yeah, it worked for me too...knocked out the infection for sure, but left me like this over 2 years later. Please think twice and put yourself in others position the next time you decide to post on a forum like. Have a little more compassion and count your lucky stars that you are still normal after this drug.

I think you're a drug rep.

Yup. I agree with the rep diagnosis. Borderline insensitive? How about downright rude? Anyone who would write that after reading about the trauma people have endured is not a person. Since drug reps are not people, ergo this person must be a drug rep!

Take a few more Levaquin ... for all of our sake. I'll buy!
