I find it very interesting about the possible link between Singulair and visual disturbances. My daughter had been told (about one year after being on Singulair) that she had damage to a nerve in one eye. She had never received any type of head trauma and the Doctor could not figure out how this happened. He told us that eventually her headaches would get so bad that she would have to have her eye removed while they tried to repair the nerve, and then they would replace her eye. I would be interested to hear if there are any other stories similar to this.

what type of nerve damage in your daughter's eye? my son (14) last spring while taking singulair was diagnosed with bilateral papal edema ie: swollen optic nerves. The first symtoms were severe headaches which was diagnosed eventually as intercranial hypertension. the side effects of this were the swollen optic nerves. we ran every test imaginable and were never given a firm diagnosis of why any of this occured. he is totally back to normal now and i took him off the singulair. he also was experiencing tingling in his extremities. i also had him tested the year before for add which was negative. his school work and work ethic this school year is remarkably different that the previous years while taking singulair for his seasonal allergies.
