Hi linda please try seeing an endocronologist he may be able to switch you from the prednisone to hydrocortisone. I was prednisone dependent for 7 years my adrenal gland no longer works, but I now am off the prednisone and only take the hydrocortisone and one other med to control my disease. Don't know if you have tried this already but if not please do. I hope the best for you. My heart goes out to you.

Great to read your message re prednisone. I have been taking prednisone for some years on a fluctuating basis for autoimmune problems but have found over time that I need more and more of it to obtain the same results. Any sort of stress sends me over the top and I just collapse in a heap for days. My symptoms mimic chronic fatigue syndrome.
Please believe you are not alone re prednisone and the doctors do not tell their patients any of this. I am going to really try to get off the blasted stuff but in my own time. If I didn't have to work it would be faster. Mind you, I may have to stop work anyway if I don't get any better.
