Hang in there. It will get better but it can take a while. The important part to remember is that it WILL happen. Don't lose hope. Just rest and take it easy. Don't try to overdo anything or you can make things worse. There are two great websites where you can go for support. They helped me a lot. www.http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/fqtoxicity/messages and www.http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/quinolones. The first few months are the worst. After that you should see a gradual improvement. Best of luck to you and remember to focus on your kids. They need you so don't give up. I will pray for you.
sorry about that. the websites are: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/fqtoxicity/messages and http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/quinolones.
GET TO A RHUEMOTOLOGIST STAT! STOP TAKING THE MEDS! I had the nightmares, the burning knees and ankles and a whole host of other side effects from this posion. It has been over a year and although most of the symptoms had vanished pretty quickly when I stopped taking the drugs I have been permantly damaged with my tendons in my ankles and knees. Going through a painful period right now with the burning of the knees and painful ankles. I am swimming 3 times a week and going for reflexology once a month (all I can afford) I will be seeing the rheumetologist in a few weeks and beg her to go back to PT. GOOD LUCK!
I was an active 47 year old and but I have pretty severe pain most of the time now. I finished my last does on 4/5/08 so I am about on my 5th month. Had horrible anxiety and insomnia along with lots of tendon and muscle pain. A walk around the block would wipe me out. I can work out some now but have constant pain in hips, legs and shoulders. I have talked with several people who say it can take lots of time to get this all out of your system. I found that eating good and exercise helps but it is very frustrating. Hang in there

Hi,
Just wondering if you are still having problems with the side effects of Levaquin. I was prescribed this for bronchitis back in June. I only took 4 pills (only 250mg each) once a day for four days. I experienced insomnia and still do almost 4 months later. I also had major anxiety, like I have never experienced before, and seeing flashes of light, fear, creepy feelings, you name it. I still have the paranoia, but the anxiety has decreased. When I did get to sleep I had nightmares randomly after I completely stopped taking the drug and for several weeks after. Also, my knee keeps popping randomly. I could not eat for several weeks and lost about 10 lbs. I did not think it was the drug at the time, who would think that? Anyway, just checking to see if you are feeling better. I think we should all report this to the FDA or whoever.
