I have weaned myself off celexa generic brand,been off for 1 wk,was on it for two yrs,having brain zaps,tiered all the time,headaches,and weight gain,will exercise to get my weight down when the zaps go away gained 20lbs,off work till side effects leave,was on 40 mg,did wean slowly,took about a mth.10 mg at a time,emotions are up and down,great understanding husband,may try wellbutrin later ,i don't know for sure,depression and social anxiety sucks,may do ok with exercise andjob change

Just read your posting after experiencing the same myself. I have a 2 yr old as well. I have gained about 20 lbs and have had no sex drive for a year at least. I went off the celexa actually ran out of it and just decided to tempt fate and see how I felt, had terrible headaches and just felt bad but am feeling better after about 7 days. Obviously not the way to taper off but anyone who says it doesn't cause weight gain is wrong and it certainly kills a womans libido. I thought something was wrong with me,nope it was the med.
