Asking strangers on the internet for medical advice is NOT a good idea. See your doctor.
Seeking advice on something as potentially serious as this from strangers on the internet is NOT a good idea. See your doctor :)
Hi, I just went to a cardiologist in Tyler Texas to seek help in getting off of this awful medication. His instructions were: cut my dosage down by quarter table size in two week increments. So, I originally took 50mg. once a day, cut that in half and into quarters to where I first cut back to 3/4 tablet total for the first two weeks, then just half a tablet for the next two weeks, and now I'm taking a quarter tablet for two weeks, then I will just quit. So far I'm doing okay with just a few chest pains now and then, and when I have them I simply rest until they pass.
I was on toprol for over three years for an irregular heartbeat. The side effects, such as some you've described, were making my life miserable and I felt I had to get off this medication, so I'm almost there....
I wish you the best of luck.
Harmonytx is correct. Very Very Slowly...As for the "listen to your doctor" info. We ALL have been listening to our doctors... but they don't seem to listen to us. In all fairness though, don't take the first advice you hear on the net. Do your research, then make an educated decision. You DO need to make sure that the reguritation is handled though.. So don't just get off the drug and not do anything about it. Good luck!
