Yes, Synthroid will do that. Hair loss is even listed as a side effect. I had bone loss too, but I switched to taking Armour. My hair has quit falling out and my bone density has improved. That is because Armour (or any dessicated thyroid hormone) had calcitonin in it, just like your own thyroid hormone does. It is difficult to fine an allopathic doctor to prescribe it because they are taught and brain washed by Big Pharma. There are issues with taking Armour IF your adrenals are stressed (which they can become by taking Synthroid too long) or your ferritin is too low (which just being hypo can cause). Those issues usually have to be resolved before you can get to an optimin dose of Armour. Check out the Stop The Thyroid Madness web site.

Thanks to the internet I learned all that and have been on Armour since 2003, adrenals, ferritin, iodine deficiency, sex hormones, and all... I've been healthy since 2005. The difference between my health, how I felt, and how I looked on synthroid and on Armour is utterly amazing - like night and day.
