i switched to femcon from nuvaring because i had terrible night sweats on nuvaring. however, i have encountered some really annoying side effects of femcon. while the night sweats are much milder, i started bleeding about a week after starting it and have not stopped. its been 12 days now and i am going crazy! i spoke with my physician and she instructed me to take the pill twice a day for a few days to stop the bleeding, but no luck. i am also having a lot of bloating. i don't think i'll put up with this for much longer. any other suggestions for better alternatives?

Ask your doctor to switch you to Loestro 24... I have had alot of success with this pill. I have been on lots of different birth controls, and can tell you that Loestro 24, and Ortho-Tricyclin LO are the ones that worked best for me. No side effects, or break through bleeding (unless you miss a pill you may get your period very lightly the next day) YAZ made me crazy.. watch for that.. its supposed to help with PMDD.. I don't have that, and I was depressed and crying all the time on YAZ. After 9 months on YAZ i decided to switch back to Loestro 24 and was happy again... The only reason why I tried Femcon was because I got free samples and thought I would save a few bucks (stupid me) After taking Femcon FE just once, I was sick... this isn't normal, and it seems to me that this pill is not helping anyone with the bleeding. My sister also switched to Femcon FE to try it, and she experienced the same thing that I did. If your not happy with this pill, stop taking it asap and then tell your doctor you want to switch. There are so many other pills out there that will work for you.

PS never tried the nuva ring, but I'm not going to after hearing about your night sweats... thanks!
