Its hard to tell because i have a sinus infection if i am not feeling well from the pill or from the infection. I really think its just me being sick. everyone needs to realize that this isnt the pill from hell, it just wasn't for you body, everyone is different, ill update you guys in like two weeks, see if im still saying the same thing

I have never been on birth control and I'm almost 41. I was put on Loestrin 24 FE for peri~menopausal symptoms (irregular periods, lengthy cycles, clotting, etc.). Like you, I literally started it 4 days ago as instructed by my Dr. at the start of my period. Oddly enough, my period really didn't come, just some spotting and a bit crampy which honestly, is just fine by me. I was so afraid of taking this, that I read every post/comment/blog on side effects and such that I could find. I practically scared myself to death but soon realized, that this pill is going to affect everyone differently and I won't know the outcome until I try it. So far (knock on wood), I haven't had any odd symptoms but it's probably still too early to tell. I also will update this post and let you know if anything happens. Good Luck to you!

How's it going for you? I'm at the end of the 3rd week and I feel great (so far). But I've been experiencing breakthrough bleeding and spotting. It started with brown spotting last week and then a "period" (not heavy though) for about 2 or 3 hours. Ironically, I was in my dr's office when it occurred, having an infection checked out. She told me it is normal to have break through bleeding/spotting for the first three months and not to worry about it. I continued with occasional spotting and then just now, I had blood, not heavy but just there. No cramping, nothing else. I'm trying to just remain calm, it's nothing more than a nuisance right now. But I really hope my body adjusts because otherwise, I'm liking this pill at the moment and it would be nice to not deal with long, heavy periods anymore.

Its so nice that weve kept up on each other! thank you!. Actually I feel great too!! i did have some break through bleeding week two for 4 days but then it just gradually got lighter and went away. I feel better on this than i did on ortho cyclen. So pretty soon, i believe a week and a half till i get my period. some ppl are saying they dont get their period at all. I am up for that! lol. i see some of the stuff that people write about the horrific effects they have so i am thankful i dont have it. I also make sure i take it at 9pm, the same time every day, so that is probably why its doing pretty good. Give me a message when you actually get your period. I hope that the breakthrough bleeding stops soon for you.!!!

-Bella

Ok... so I got my period two days before the placebo pills in the pack. I have to say, it was exactly the same as all my periods - heavy, clotting, painful. Was a little disappointed actually. I started Pack #2 and I'm still having spotting. My patience is really wearing thing right now... I feel like I've had a period for 3 weeks. :( I will be seeing my doctor next month. If there is no improvement over the next three weeks... I may have to get something different. It sucks because otherwise, I feel great. I just can't handle this light spotting/bleeding all the time. It's really affecting my relationship with my husband...

Well, this second month has been better so far (knock on wood). No breakthrough bleeding. Started spotting over the weekend and today (two days before placebo pills), my period appears to be starting. I have three more packs to try before I decide whether this is right for me but at this moment, I am happy. Time will tell. I did go to my dr and she assured me that my body is trying to adjust and to be patient. She said the first 3 or 4 months could be weird... skipped periods, double periods in a month, etc. She told me to stick it out for at least 3 or 4 months before giving up on it so we'll see.. Good luck to you!
