I have had the same side effects. I got the depo lupron shot in may and had to go on effexor to not feel crazy. I have not got another shot and still have not had my period. It has been 5 months and I have gained 20 pounds. I work out every day and eat right. I will never get the shot again. I am only 27 and have been dealing with endo for 8 years now. I want a hyster. but since I don't have children they won't give me one.I am in constant pain and I still feel the shot isn't worth it.
I promise you it gets better. I had to get counseling though. I too felt crazy. It's been 8 months since my last shot, and I still get anxiety attacks once in a while, but when you know it's from the medication, it's easier to handle. Hang in there!
I had a 3month shot of Lupron in December. It is now February and I am feeling the exact same way as everyone else here has described. I just want to curl up in a ball and hide from the world. I do not want to take the anti depressants again as I had a terrible time coming off of them a few years ago. As for me, knowing that it is from the medication does not make things any easier. I got the shot because I have fairly large pedunculated uterine fibroids that were causing me a great deal of pain for about 10 days to 2 weeks every month. Doctor said the shot should help to shrink them so that the surgery will be less invasive. I think I should have just gone ahead and had the surgery. This is awful. Dr's should be required to tell you all of the possible side effects associated with this drug. TAP Pharmaceuticals should be not even be allowed to make and sell this drug. I have not heard of anyone who has had a good experience with LUPRON.
