1. Blood Pressure 180/120 resulting in an emergency room trip 2. Weight gain of 25 POUNDS! Most/all of which was water and came off within the first week of being off from Yasmin. 3. Bloating and extreme water retention. See # 2. 4. Severe leg muscle cramping and foot pain 5. A mental feeling of not caring and general fogginess 6. Complete loss of libido 7. Acid reflux (probably from the diuretic in Yasmin) 8. General weakness in my muscles (there were times that I could barely open a revolving door). I was on Yasmin for a year. I have been off for one month. I am still on blood pressure meds, but they don't think the Yasmin is out of my system. Has anyone else gotten hypertension from Yasmin and if so, how long did you have to be on blood pressure meds? Some of my symptoms are getting better after a month, and some are not. If anyone is reading this to decide whether or not to take Yasmin, please don't. You may not have any symptoms right away and you may think you feel great, but that is the scariest part. When symptoms come on gradually, you hardly notice them until you are in the hospital emergency room.

Hi!

I have been on Yasmin for 3 years and stopped 3 weeks ago with the end of the last pack.
I am still not sure that any of my symptoms have been cause by yasmin, but reading the reviews has made me very suspicious.
For the first 1-15 years on Yasmin, I did not have any really bothering symptoms except strong anxiety (occasional) nad elevated blood pressure, which I always explained with the anxiety. Since I had my very first anxiety attack 2 week before I started Yasmin, I cannot be sure whether Yasmin has caused or aggravated the continued my symptoms. At any rate, before I stopped almost a month ago, I was having leg pain, permanent anxiety, very high blood pressure, muscle paind, stomach pains, dry eyes, funny throat coarseness, extreme weakness and depression...I hope the symptoms get better with time...

Oh MY GOSH! I have been researching this topic for a while now, and I am so glad to see that people are finally talking about this. I too have been on Yasmin for about 5 years and am now being monitored for high blood pressure. I have noticed my BP continue to rise over the last couple years, but no one has ever really mentioned that Yasmin could be to blame. I am going to go for a trial of 3 or so weeks off the pill in about a week and i hope this is it, otherwise, my doc is going to put me on some BP meds. Please let me know how you girls are doing off the Yasmin, and if your BP has lowered to normal. My mom is convinced that there is no way it could be the Yasmin, but Im not and your testimonies are definitely support! So thank you!

According to my doctor, it takes a few months for BC to go out of your system. I'm still on BP meds, although they have now switched them to beta blockers, which have also helped with the anxiety that had become so normal to me that I didn't even realize that I had it until I started taking the new medicine. My BP is fluctuating, so my doc doesn't want to try and take me off the BP meds until it stabilizes for a couple of months. Further evidence that after 2 months the Yasmin is not out of my system is that my period has not been normal yet, my weight is fluctuating a lot, and I'm really moody. Nkshah, I would give it more than 3 weeks time, but perhaps, like me, if your BP is really high, you might suggest temporarily going on BP meds so that no harm comes to you while you are waiting for the Yasmin to wear off. Be well. Keep us posted.
