Reply to mcaleese who writes: “recently developed under skin "rash",from ankle and upward on legs, my dr. is now doing blood work for ecchymosis petechiae, I am curious if anyone has this experience while using Fosamax D 70 mg.”
If you read the side effects of fosamax in
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alendronate
you will see:
“General: infrequent cases of skin rash, rarely manifesting as Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis.” Then if you go to Stevens-Johnson syndrome one can see that at a very early stage it shows as a rash between the epidermis and the dermis.
This is an interesting video from the cbs4 News of June 25, 2008 on osteoporosis drugs:

I also got a rash like you from taking fosamax. Mine is on my right arm and sun and cleansing with soap aggrevated it. Did you find a treatment for it? I have had mine for a year and nobody knows what it is.
rant 11 . . . This drug can cause many side effects. I suggest that you read more posts and do your own research. You will find there have been lawsuits. Unfortunately, most drs. are drug-happy . . .where there are many natural products/alternatives.
