I have been doing searches on the web about this for the last hour or so. I have been on Cymbalta for nearly a year and have had the same problem. I had maybe 2 yeast infections in my life before starting Cymbalta and I am 39 years old. Now they never go completely away for more than a day or so and then come back with a vengance. I am so miserable from living with this. I have tried stopping the drug cold turkey, but became so sick and dizzy by the 3rd day off Cymbalta that I could function. I'm talking head spinning, nausea and weird nightmares. I feel trapped and I am going to my doctor next week to see what I need to do to wean off this medicine. Who knows what the long term effects on our brains will be. I am so relieved to find one entry on the web where someone else is experiencing the problem with yeast. Although I do not wish it on anyone. It gives me hope that it is the Cymbalta and hopefully will clear up once I am off the med. Please let me know if you have any other information on a link between yeast infections and Cymbalta.

Hi Natasha,
I am happy to report that I am no longer afflicted with regular yeast infections. I went to see an amazing Naturopath who made the link between the yeast infections, and likely a combined reaction with my birth control which was a high dosage in hormones. Since switching to a low dose pill, Cymbalta is no longer reacting with it. Definitely speak with your doctor about this, but I also recommend seeing a good Naturopath. They should spend lots of time with you at your first visit, pretty much giving you a full exam. Naturopath's receive about 8 years of medical training, and they focus on prevention vs. symptom treatment. They will also be able to work with you and your doctor to reduce your dosage of Cymbalta. It's about time Naturopaths were valued for the amazing work they do!
Good luck!
