Putting a black box warning on it would not take it off the market, but would make it available to those it truly is the last line of defence they need. The disgrace here as that the dollar was put before the mental health of children, the disgrace is that children have died and nobody gave a dam,the disgrace here is the side effects were known and hidden, the disgrace here is scientists at the fda are pressured to ok drugs they know to be harmful, the disgrace here is nobody was listening to the concerns of parents, the disgrace here is the whole system of a profit run business of health
I agree that Singulair should not be pulled off of the market. My goal, and so many others like Parentsforsafety, is to raise public awareness about the POSSIBLE side effects. This medication does work, but consumers need to also know what the potential dangers are. My daughter comitted suicide after 3 1/2 years of hell on this medication. The reports about the link between Singulair and depression and suicide did not come out until months after she died. If I had known perhaps things would have been different. We all know that there are some dangers associated with giving teenagers antidepressents. How do we know that? Because people fought to raise awareness. That is all that we are trying to do is to help consumers make the best choices that they can.
If this drug makes people more sensitive to their true self then it would have made my son even happier than he already is. Of course that's not what happened.
my son was a mess on Singulair and now that he's off he's a completely different kid!
