After reading all the side effects from Advair. I am glad I decided to wean myself off this horrible drug. My pulmonologist gave me a sample after I was diagnosed with asthma in March. Before I was diagnosed with asthma I had a severe bout of bronchitis followed by pneumonia. At first I felt much better using Advair, but then the horror kicked in. I experienced hoarseness and felt like I had an obstruction in my throat. I am not going into all of the side effects I experienced with this drug because it is a repeat of what people are saying on this website. I stopped taking it two weeks ago. I am already noticing how much better I feel. The withdrawal has been difficult. I have no intention of taking this drug again. I plan on using alternative medicine in the future. This drug must be taken off the market!!!!

can you please describe the withdrawal. i've been taking advair for several years- the lowest dose and i only take it once at day or once every other day or every third day. but when i've gone a week or so without it, i can't breathe and i have to get a round of prednisone to get me back on track.
maybe what i'm feeling is a withdrawal sympotom and if i toughed it out, i could get to the other side?
i hate it all and want to be done with this!
they (doctors) assured me that if i had sinus surgery, i'd be fine and not need asthma anymore. so i had my polyps out and still have pretty much the same issues, except that now they want me on two nasal sprays, advair and allergy shots.
any advice you have would be welcome

thank you

How dare you advcate for a drug removal that has helped others just because it wasn't right for you! I have been on advair for 5 years and it has made a HUGE differnce in my life. When I take my advair regualrly I do ot need albuterl or resuce drugs, if I stop my advair I get very sob again and need rescue inhalers 1-2x a day.
