Is this normal, I have been on Doxycycline for 5 days for a urinary tract infection and from day one i had a sore throat with swollen glands, extreme anxiety and feeling pretty ill, yes it has helped my infection a lot but I have now developed very bad pains in my chest like extreme indigestion and finding it hard to swallow anything, even water, without it hurting?? Im thinking about talking to the Doctor Im feeling pretty rough at the moment and not too sure whether this is normal or not!!

hey,
I had the same symptoms right under my fibs like the top of my stomach hurt. It has been liek it for a few days and hurts really bad to eat or drink. I went to the emergency room and they told me the medicine is burnign my stomach lining and if i dont stop the medicine it will form an ulcer. So talk to ur dr adn tell him u want a different drug. My dr told me to stop taking them rigth away.

Thanks a lot for the reply its much appreciated. Yeah I saw my doctor yesterday and she seemed to reckon it was pretty normal (doesnt feel normal) and has given me some anti-stomach acid tablets. Did you also get the swollen glands too by any chance?

It reassuring to hear from other people so thanks again for your reply.
