Did your doctor tell you that prednisone can make your blood sugar go up? Just wondering
Hi, I'm a female, 51 yrs. old. In Oct. 2007 I was prescribed Levaquin for possible pleurisy. After 2 days my blood pressure went up about 20 points and they told me to discontinue. About a week later they decided it was not pleurisy and might be a pinched nerve. They put me on prednisone. After 3 days, my blood pressure went up 30 to 40 points and my heart rate 110 (very high for me). I was jerking all over. They told me to discontinue it immediately and the symptoms should go away in a few days. My blood pressure went down after about a month. The heart palpatations went away after about 2 months. My brain feels like it is tremoring every day and has been ever since. It has now been almost 15 months. I've been to three regular MD's, a heart doctor, neurologist and they all say the same thing, "I've never heard of anything like that". Then they say let's try this or that and come back in three months. I feel your pain!!!
Hi, I'm wondering if you could tell me how long the muscle spasms lasted. My 12 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with Chron's disease and was on prednisone for just over 5 months. She has had horrible side effects. She has now been off it for 1 month, but started getting numerous muscle spasms throughout the day. The doctor suggested that the prednisone affected her muscles, but also increasing anxiety. This is the only place that I found people complaing about prednisone and muscle spasms. Any input would be welcomed.
