I started using the NuvaRing 5 months ago. The first month I felt great. By the second to third month I was experiencing severe vaginal itching and soreness as well has vision problems. I kept thinking that my body needed to get used to it so I used it for 2 more months. The itching and soreness did not subside so i took it out about 45 days ago. These last 45 days have been crazy. I have been an emotional mess with crazy anxiety attacks. (I am typically an easy going calm person) I am experiencing hot flashes that start in my scalp and ears and continue to my extremities as well as itching all over my body and random intense pain in my arms. I have been to the doctor twice in two weeks because I thought something was seriously wrong with me. All of my labs came back normal so he keeps reassuring me that I am going through "hormone withdrawal" and it should get better within two months. This has been a horrible experience and I will never go on it again or refer it to anyone.

Thank you for writing your experience, I only used the Nuva Ring for 60 days, I could not take how drained and awful I felt along with hair started falling, skin errupted and itched. I stopped the Nuva Ring and within 2 weeks started getting hot flashes that somedays I have them every half hour for 2 hours, other times in about 2 hours. I went to the doctor, I know I am getting close to peri-menopause but I did not have hot flashes before trying the Nuva Ring to treat an ovarian cyst. Now I am vaginally dry, not sleeping and hot flashes. I am sure the Nuva Ring works for some, it has been 6 weeks since going off it and I am absolutely physically turned upside down. I hope someone can give some insight when the body will regulate if it will.

I have been searching for an answer to my awful, ongoing cold sweats and can not seem to find an answer. This has been going on for about 1 year on and off for about two weeks, every two weeks or so. It gets so bad that I feel like I just ran a marathon and are standing in a freezer at the same time. I spoke to my gyn and she said that if it does not coinside with my period than it has nothing to do with it; I am beginning to think otherwise. She suggested a tooth infection...that was not it. I have been on the Nuva Ring for about 3 years. I have never had a problem with it. I loved it. I have recently begun to think that the ring has something to do with it but have not been able to find a similar symptom before yours. I took the ring out two days ago, hoping something might change...??
