I am positive my hair loss is from the Mirena. I have been tested for everything my ob, g.p. and dermo. could think of and it all came back negative. I am so glad I had mine removed! I wouldn't wish my experience on anyone! Hopefully my hair will return to normal soon...

I had the Mirena IUD inserted six weeks after my 3rd child was born in Nov. 2005. It took me until Feb. of 2008 to figure out why I have been loosing so much of my previously thick, healthy hair. I had the IUD taken out in March 2008. Since then, I've had a ton of tests done, I use Rogaine and take a ton of vitamins everyday, but the spot on the top of my head keeps getting thinner and thinner and my ponytail keeps getting smaller and smaller and I wish someone had some miracle cure for this insanity!
