Hi ladies! I had the Mirena removed on Oct 20th after coming across this website THANK GOD! I felt much better mentally almost immediately, but am experiencing headaches, which I didn't before, and dizzy spells. Are any of you experiencing withdrawal symptoms? I know it'll be a while before the hormones are out of my system, I just want to make sure there's nothing else I need to be concerned about. If I've learned nothing else through this process, it's that the drug companies and doctors are going to do what's best for THEM. Hope you all who have had challenges with Mirena are feeling better!

I had it in from Jan '07 until Aug '08. I was getting severe monthly migraines, severe mood swings. Anger and rage mostly and no sex drive.

After having it out for over 2 months, i feel like a new person. My doctor said Mirena doesnt cause migraines, but that is total B.S. because when you look up the info, it does cause headaches and migraines in some people. My doctor recommded this thing for heavy periods, but now I am changing doctors completely. I was so P.O.ed to find out she was wrong and she is the one telling me I am wrong. Well, since then I feel better, and stable emotions, plus only get a minor headache during my period which goes away with ibuprofen, not a prescription.

I also don't have allergy problems that I was diagnosed with last year. They seem to have disappeared after Mirena was removed.

Listen to your own body not the doctors. You know yourself better than anyone else.

I had Mirena moved several days ago and I'm experiencing the worst headaches I've ever had in my life, along with extreme nausea, feeling 'confused', dizziness, feeling depressed and blurry vision. It was bad enough having the damn thing in there (a list of awful side effects) but I wish I had known more about how the withdrawal would affect me as I certainly wouldn't have even tried it in the first place. I'm REALLY p'd off!!! Rosie.
