I work at a computer all day. I have just begun taking Wellbutrin and I have noticed that my eyes seem to be getting more and more sensitive to the light on my screen. A couple days ago, I was looking at a paper and then back at the screen while I typed and, my eyes just went out of focus. It was like I was looking cross-eyed. There were two of everything and it made me really dizzy. I have had inner ear problems in the past and I don't know if the Wellbutrin is triggering them or what. I am not using alcohol or other medications other that Benadryl at night. Has anyone else experienced this? This is scary.

I have had problems w/my eyes on and off since I started taking it as well. Went to the dr. (because I felt I was having double vision and like my eyes were moving "slower" than my head (strange, I know). He said it is a VERY rare side effect (issues w/your eyes and eye "muscles") but nothing to worry about.

I am an engineer and have worked every day on the computer for over 20 years. About 4 years ago I suffered Major Depression and have been unable to shake it completely. After trying most of the old type anti-depressants and many of the newer types like SSRI, etc... I began taking Wellbutrin, 200mg and Cymbalta 60mg both twice a day. It has been a godsend for me as I improved immediately. I also began to experience a major sensitivity to light which became worse and worse until I could not stand to look at my pc more than a couple of hours a day. My first assumption was to blame the anti-depressants. I was worried, past worried, almost frantic before I decided to see an optomologist to find out what terrible eye desease I was suffering. Turned out that that all I needed was reading glasses (what a relief). I was forty five. If you are in your forties this may be your problem. I settled for progressive bifocals over what the doctor called computer glasses because I have to be able to look back and forth at blue prints and the computer over and over and computer glasses are set for the distance of the computer screen only and are not reading glasses you will need to read print on your desk. Be sure to get the more expensive thinner lens with the new Crizal/Scottsgard finish. Mine are absolutely reflection free and that is worth the extra money. You are worth the money and you will not regret it. Besides most optomologists will make any adjustments to the lens for 30 days including exchanging lens so you are at no risk to try it. Don't suffer for months like I did. Good luck.

Stop taking the benedryl. See if your symptoms improve. It may take up to a week or more off the benedryl. It sounds like the same thing I suffered taking benedryl just so I could sleep without coughing all night.
