Thank goodness for this site!! i couldn't figure out why, after walking nearly 4 miles a day, eating right, etc., the reason why i kept gaining weight. i got on the scale Wednesday and nearly had a nervous breakdown. i can't think straight because i'm buying size 18 pants now and started in a VERY small size 14, sometimes 12. My question is, does anyone have any information as to how long it will take to lost the weight? i'm so distraight. i look like a fat, bloated pig. :-( i've put on over 20 pounds. i started out trying to lose 10 pounds and gained 21 since i had mirena. Please help me!!

I have had my mirena for three month's and have ahd every symtom you have named plus more. I have no sex drive,always angry,loss of hair ect.. I am going to see my doctor next week to have this thing removed...

I'm sure once your system gets back to normal, you will start losing the weight. My doctors feel very strongly that Mirena has nothing to do with weight gain, but I'm having other issues with it and I do not trust it. I'm calling Monday to get it removed. It's not worth all of this! Don't worry about the weight, keep working out and eating right, I'm sure it will come off once the Mirena is out of your system. Don't stress...

I HAD MIRENA IN FOR 8 MONTHS. I WAS WALKING EVERYDAY AND I HAD LIMITED MY FOOD INTAKE. I WAS 170LBS AFTER GIVING BIRTH TO MY SECOND CHILD AND OVER THAT 8 MONTH PERIOD WENT ALL THE WAY UP TO 220LBS. I STARTED BLOGGING TO GET THE SIDE AFFECTS ON MIRENA AND FOUND NUMEROUS SITES EXPLAINING WEIGHT GAIN AND ACHY LEGS WHICH WAS MY MAIN CONCERNS, ON 10/31/2008 I GOT MY MIRENA REMOVED AND I HAVE ALREADY LOSS 5 LBS, HOPEFULLY I'M GOING TO LOSE MORE. I STRONGLY SUGGEST ALL OF YOU TO HAVE MIRENA REMOVED BECAUSE IT'S DANGEROUS. I HAD CHEST, BACK, AND LEG PAINS, IT WAS VERY BAD.

If you are walking 4 miles each day are you eating more to compensate for the calories you burned???? Start by weighing & measuring all your foods. make sure you refer to the number of servings per container, then log everything you eat. I think you will find that your portion size and weight of the items may be more than you think.
