Hi, Ive just turned 18 and something very similar happened to me. I have been on Yasmin for 5 months now and yesterday I got really bad cramps and passed out in the shower. I have been feeling a bit odd for a while now so my boyfriend took me to hospital. We thought that i might be pregnant since i have been having the following symptoms for over a week now: hot flushes (mostly at night) nausea cramps really bad headaches that last for days light nervousness and I feel so so tired all the time even if I have slept for 10 hours im not sure what is wrong with me and its been really frightening. I never though it could be the pill but after reading all these posts im now starting to wonder...

Your symptoms are very worrisome. I urge you to be assertive with your doctor about being tested for blood clotting. This is a potentially very serious side effect of birth control pills. There is a blood test called a dDimer and other tests your doctor can order. If you develop shortness of breath, pain on deep breathing, or little bloody noses this indicates possibly blood clots in the lungs. If you develop these symptoms go immediately to an ER.

My daughter developed shortness of breath on a Tuesday two years ago. By the following Friday she was dead. I do not want this to happen to anyone else.

I urge you to READ the booklet that comes with Yasmin. Pay careful attention to the table in the middle of the booklet that describes the SIDE EFFECTS - especially those for DVT's (blood clots in the legs) and pulmonary emboli (blood clots in the lungs). Take care of yourself.
