My wife just got her injection almost a month ago. She has a new doctor. The doctor gave her a 3 month supply, in 1 shot!!! She still has the pain, also back pain, constant on/off bleeding, depression, mood swings, headaches, hot flashes, nausea. I want to know, is she suppose to get such a large dose at one time? It seems that her body is fighting the medicine. Now she is taking another hormone in addition.

Hang in there! There are different courses of this medication and I too, was on the 3 month dosage. I felt the same symptoms and they do pass. It seems like every week she will feel different. I waited too long to get on the add-back therapy and wish I would have from day one. The additional hormones (add-back therapy) do help. If I skipped a day I felt horrible!! My six months of therapy just ended in October and I still have the horrendous hot flashes and sleepless nights. Other than that, my headaches, nausea, mood swings, depression have all ended. Her body is not rejecting the Lupron, it's just breaking down the hormones minute by minute, therefore, triggering the symptoms. Since it is such a large dosage, her body needs to break it down. If the hormone add-back therapy isn't working, they can give her a stronger hormone. I went through three differnet hormones before I found one that really helped. Don't be afraid to call the doctor. I know it's tough, but try to keep a "symptoms journal" and share it with your doctor. Good luck!
