i just starting taking toprol once a day for my heart. i suffered for many years with panic attacks and used to break a .05 zanax in half if the episode would happen. i recently had lap band surgery and i wound up in the icu with a very fast racing heart. it stopped after i got home but then 2 months later it started up again. i feel so much better taking toprol 25 which the cardiologist prescribed for me. i don't have panic attacks so frequently now and wonder if this medication helps with that problem and the fast heart rate. write back if you have any experience with panic attacks and fast beating hearts!

I had an ablation and the difference is startling, I have almost no tachycardias now. Ablation is easy and it simply turns your life around. Have one if they recommend it, the sooner the better. Take care!

Have the ablation if you can, it is incredible the difference after you have one. I had one almost 15 years ago and I was having the same thing you are, with the tachycardias and sometimes many in one day. Ablation is easy, and I was out shopping the next day, no kidding. There is nothing to it, and it is the answer to the strange string of tachycardias, I almost never have any problems anymore, and if I do I go from tachycardias that took me from home to hospital to stop them, to about 11 beats and then it stops where they severed the spare pathway I have that caused the tachycardias, and I went from 7 or 8 a week or more, to one a month and they stop after about the 10th or 11th beat now. An improvement to good to even be explained!!!! Have the ablation, it is incredibly easy and it does make a remarkable difference. I have been having strong heart palpatations for two weeks. And I am currently taking xanax and toprol. The toprol seems to be helping me I am only taking 25 mg a day. I have heart palpatations while I am driving, in the grocery store. I just can't get them to go away. I think I may need to take toprol twice a day instead of once a day. I need someone to give me some advice. I have had every test done on my heart and I don't know what else to do. Can someone please help me.
