My gyn wants me to get the mirena. I am 28 and have a blood clot...

Well I would like to tell you that I am 26 years old and in Jan of 09 will be 5 years having the Mirena. I have had hardly any side effects. At first I had no periods for the first 3 years then I had a period once every 6 months, now I have a light period every 3 months and very light spotting (by that I mean, a few pink dots for two days) every month in between and no menstrual cramping. It didn't hurt when they inserted it, it just felt like when they do a pap smear. I am currently needing to set up an appointment to get it taken out and replaced. I haven't had any weight gain issues or weight loss issues or acne or anything that regular bc can cause. I understand your circumstances are much different but I hope that my story helps in some small way.

Well I have no use for the Mirena. I also have a blood clothing problem called thrombophilia. I had the mirena inserted may of this year and am bleeding every day since. Now I was taking medicine for to many male hormones on that 6 months six more months to go and find out my male hormone level is out of wack again. I also have headache lower back pain, throwing up, blurred vision my weight is screwed up i dropped down to 95 and now am at 125 in less than 3 months. My blood work all comes back ok, I know there is a problem somewhere. I am ready to go see another doctor. Any one else have a problem like this? I also have three kids am 28 no one will tie tubes with blood clothing disorder.
