Get off the Lipitor, me and me husband, both had the severe joint pain. The pain moved from one joint to the next. It would be in the shoulder, then the next day or so, it would move to our feet, then to the hand and wrist. It would swell , so bad, that it felt like, that part of the body was going to burst !!! My husband was on LIPITOR for 1 1/2 years, before it hit him. Doctors thought it was gout, and my husband was walking on a walker ,at 49 years old, and never being unhealthy. I was on LIPITOR for only one month, after a stint was put in my heart. Believe me, it is not the stint , it is the LIPITOR. I knew what it was when it got in my joints, so I went off it right away. It still takes about 2 weeks to get it out of your system. I now know of other people, who are on LIPITOR, that have severe muscle cramps. If this is happening to you, then you can not take anything with STATINS , in it. If you are allergic to STATINS, it can cause another muscle disorder , that can destroy your muscle tissue.

Good that you stopped taking that dangerous drug. If necessary, there are natural products/ alternatives to low your cholesterol or any health issue.

I am so glad that you realised that you/your husband were having side effects and that it happened so quickly because then the chances are much bigger that you will come out of this okay.

It`s not just the Lipitor - it`s all statins - that have the same side effects.

Please don´t worry about the cholesterol issue.

I don´t know my cholesterol numbers (they go up as you get older) and I am 65.

I am not interested - it`s the pharmaceutical companies/some doctors that want you to worry and start taking statins.

Please read "The Great Cholesterol Con" (Anthony Colpo)
The Cholesterol Myths (Uffe Ravnskov)
Overdosed America (John Abramson)
Malignant Medical Myths (Joel F. Kauffman)

I had to "educate" myself because I saw side effects in people close to me. When they started with statin medication, I had no idea what this type of mediction could do to you, but in 2004 - when I finally had an Internet-connection my "research" started.

I was very surprised at what I found.

Duane Graveline (spacedoc) don´t recommend that you stop with statins in one.Taper out the medication.

You will find information on his webb-site (search for spacedoc - not allwed to mention it here).

You can also Google "Stopped our statins". The same suggestion is there if I don´t remember wrongly.

There is also a very interesting article from Weston Price Foundation under "print articles".

I would suggest that you always "research" any medication that you are about to take (unless it`s emergency, of course). It`s not just statins that can harm you and remember that new drugs are not necessarily better than old.

Less safe, because side effects have not appeared in full.

The reason why you hear so much about new medications is that the pharmaceutical companies rather sell them because they can earn more money (patent during a certain number of years).
