Went off simvastatin in March, all pain went away within a couple of months, but muscle weakness in legs remained. In October, found out my cholesterol is sky high, over 325. So Dr. wanted to try Crestor 5 mg. Within 1 week, I had overwhelming fatigue, could hardly stay awake during the day and the weakness in my legs was getting worse. So I just went off Crestor. Frustrating!!

Good that you stopped the statins again. Any of them will cause side effects. As I suggested before, there are many natural products to control your cholesterol.

Linda, thank you for taking to time to post your comments on Lipitor. Sadly, you are not alone, but try not to be frustrated cause you will improve over time as long as you stay off any cholesterol lowering drug. Its tough to stay healthy when we cut the job of the DIRECTOR OF HUMAN ENGINEERING AND BODILY MAINTAINANCE. That is "bad cholesterol's" role in the human body.

Do not fear if your cholesterol levels are higher than most. Cholesterol itself is not the villain in heart disease, rather true elevated cholesterol is a SYMPTOM of a possible underlying metabolic issue.

Keep in mind that there is a population that has some of the lowest cholesterol levels in the world-- with the highest heart disease rates in the world. Serum cholesterol levels is a very poor predictor of cardiovascular disease.

linda

you need to remember that the various statin drugs exist just to get a share of the market for various drug companies. they are not really different from one another and there's really no medical need for so many to exist. if you react to one, you'll react to the others
the new lower cholesterol guidelines have been cooked up to sell more and more drugs to more and more people by doctors who on the payroll of the drug companies
my doctor tried to put me on statins too. i'm 55, 5'2 and a size 4. i told him i would never take them. i cut out dairy, ate more oatmeal and started walking 30 blocks to work everyday. my cholesterol came down.

your body makes all the cholesterol it needs. when you eat meat and dairy, you add to the total. if you cut those things out and eat vegetables and grains, your body will still make the cholesterol that your particular body needs. your body won't be reading a chart or following any guidelines

There is one extensively tested and proven NATURAL alternative to statin drugs and it is even in the PDR. It has been around for many years. The name is Bioslife Complete. It is an orange flavored drink (powder you mix with water) and take twice a day before you eat. Not only will it lower your LDL it also raises your HDL, triglycerides are lowered as is blood sugar.Increased energy and you'll even lose a few pounds. I take it as do my entire family as we all have the bad genetics to suffer from this and its ensuing cardiovascular disease. It works, its easy, its given me my life back. Statins almost killed me twice, and I'll never give them another chance. I became a distributor for this company so I could purchase the product wholesale. Best move I made in order to have my family members afford it and to make a few dollars too. Please take the time to check out my website: www.unicity.net/suzannechapkis
Click on Bioslife Complete and feel free to explore all the wonderful products we have.
Best of health to you. SC
