I was put on Wellbutron and have had great results. I was taking it in combination with Lexapro. It gave me a lift, more energy and got me out of the house. I really have had no complaints. I am still taking it.
That's terrific! That's the reaction I had to Zoloft, while I knew people who were almost propelled into suicide by the affects it had on them. It's amazing how these medications can provoke such different results in individuals when we're all trying to reach the same state of normalcy. If Zoloft hadn't packed forty pounds on me (and kept climbing) I would have never given it up. I know how great you must feel to have arrived at Wellbutrin as the right medication; Go You!!!
It has been five days since I stopped taking Wellbutrin, and after just the slightest withdrawal symptoms for a couple of days, I feel like it's out of my system. My sleep has returned, no pounding heart, quaking, spasms, headache; I do have blurred vision and softer ringing in my ears. I am very grateful to have had such an easy experience of quitting it, an unexpected blessing. Once the Zoloft had left my system, I went into a dark place for quite a while - not horrible, just hopeless-feeling. It's a little soon to tell, but I'm sensing that this isn't the case with coming off the Wellbutrin, which I think is a tremendous attribute. A few days of chills and nausea are hardly worth mentioning when compared to being in the depths of despair.
I started SAM-e yesterday, hoping to head off any dive I might be inclined to have from having no meds in my system. I don't know how long Wellbutrin stays in the system - do you? I feel pretty good right now and I'd like to think that it isn't the residual Wellbutrin, but that maybe it triggered something that has helped me round the bend and come back toward Life the way it's supposed to be. That would be more than I could have imagined or asked for...
I also have had similar effects from welbutrin. After being on it for a couple months with an increase to 300mg I got deathly sick!! I thought I had the flu for so long. I could not control the nause, weakness, awful feelings in my head with sensitivity every time I turned my head or eyes. My heart and neck pulsated so hard I coulnn't even fall asleep at night due to the annoyance of it. When I would exercise I had shortness of breath and would get dizzy while spinning.I tapered dowwn to 150mg. felt better but still nauseated all the time. It never went away. I have been off the drug foe one day and I already feel like a new person. That was not the one for me!!!
I realize this is a little dated, but I too experienced horrifying symptoms when I started Wellbutrin. A few weeks after beginning treatement, I started noticing muscle spasms, hands shaking uncontrollably, and other similiar things. They all progressed over a few months, getting gradually worse, then culminating one day in paralysis from the waist down for about an hour. I immediately stopped taking it and after a few weeks, the muscle spasms and shaking have just about ceased completely. Watch out for that stuff!
