Hi, you might want to have your obgyn or primary care physician look into thyroid tests, TSH, T4 and T3 levels. If you're exercising that much and continue to gain weight it could be your thyroid. Women are more prone to thyroid problems, mainly hypothyroidism. The Thyroid controls the rate of metabolism and if it's malfunctioning you would basically not be using the food in the ways you would before, they are just stored as fat in your body. You're also in the prime age for any type of thyroid problem to show it's face. Bad thyroid is also known to mess with periods and cause mood swings among other problems. Hope this helps!
I went to both my ob/gyn and my PCP. They ran numerous tests and there is nothing at all to indicate it is a health issue. The only remaining cause is the birth control. I saw a dietician who says that I am eating a balanced and healthy diet and should not be gaining weight... were just hoping it soon starts to shed. I am 3 weeks off the Femcon and have no more mood swings/crying spells and feel less bloated. We'll see if the weight somes off too...
