Wow. I have had almost the same experience as you. My 4 month old came down with a terrible "yeast" rash which eventually required 3 weeks and 3 strong medicines to clear up. She is breastfed and not drooling so she was not allergic or wet under the chin - she's my third child and I knew the diagnosis did not make any sense. Now I think it must be the mirena.
Plus, I have lost no weight since the insertion and my abdomen is extended (this is very unusual for me as I am slim and exercise), I have unexplained rashes, no libido, bleeding every few days, and lots of other issues. I was worried about getting the Mirena but opted for it because the Paraguard caused heavy periods for me, but this is not worth it. Thank you for sharing your experience - I think I am able to see more clearly now.
The same thing happened to me. My daughter was about 5 months old when she started getting these white patches on her tongue and side of her mouth. I also noticed that I had this horrible rash and I didn't get this until after the Mirena was put in. I called my Dr and the nurse told me it was a yeast infection and I gave it to my daughter because I was breastfeeding her while I had a yeast infection on my breast. They called in a precription and it dried up, but now I have the rash on my sides and chest. This is my 3rd child and this never happened with my other 2. This is also the 1st time using the Mirena. I thought I was going crazy, but since reading your stories...I am thinking of having this thing taken out!
