I have been on Yasmin for about 5 years. I have never had an issue. I am worried that everyone on this site is making Yasmin look bad. You all need to remember that not everything will work for every person, everyones hormones are different to begin with so when you add the pill to these different levels of hormones you will get different side effects. To the people with low sex drive, did you perhaps think that this could be due to depression or the aging process? Many women suffer from low sex drive, those on and off the pill. Your sex drive will not be consistent throughout life, mine dropped in my early 20s and now is rising again, it may drop again, it can also be due to stress. All that said if you're suffering side effects that you think are attributed to Yasmin, or any other pill, stop taking it! Not everyone's body will handle it.

oh man, I sincerely hope your body is miraculously perfect and the #1 drug in history with the most side effects reported (Yasmin) will not bother you. However, I just want to let you know that I had been on Yasmin for a long time too and it was fine for me. It was when I got off that my health hit rockbottom and I ended up in the hospital. It will take about 6 months off the pill to have your body re-balance from the withdrawal. You dont need to believe the nearly 5 thousand reports on this site alone, but just remember, this drug was made specifically for patients who suffer from androgenic issues like too much body hair and severe mood swings from over production of testosterone. It is the only drug along with Yaz (its lower dose version) that has an added testosterone binding blocker agent. So, no, the no sex drive is not from aging or depression expecially when you're talking about a 25 yr old person with no history of depression whatsoever. Secondly, Yasmin is alos the only drug that affects your potassium levels and it is sited on their website that all should have their potassium levels checked regularly but no doctor tells the patient this. Did yours? Third and finally, my best friend was only Yasmin for 10 years, and was just fine with it. However, she was diagnosed with MS and now new MS studies are showing that estrogen or lack there of (caused by oral contraceptives) are linked to not just MS but all kinds of auto-immune disorders like lupus, etc...again, good luck to you and I hope you truly dont suffer from any of these "made up" horrible side-effects of being on or coming off the drug.

Yasmin has given me 7 years of watery diarrhea everyday. Basically the whole of my 20's have gone down the toilet. It has made me a nervous wreck, put me through hell and yes, I am absolutely definite that this pill is to blame. When I stopped taking it, the diarrhea has gradually reduced since then. I just want to try to make others aware of this. I wouldn't want anyone to have to go through what I have because I didn't know anything about this at all and even the Doctors and specialists didn't link the two. I just want to let others know what can happen.

I just want to say I agree wit you. Everyone is different. I will be starting Yasmin today and after reading these posts, I am scared to take it. I recently had the Mirena IUD taken out (due to constant back pain). I hope Yasmin is right for me. Thanks for the postive feedback on this bc.
